As from 5pm on Friday 20th March, our school closed to all children, except those children whose parents are key workers and to vulnerable children. St Mary’s is the site providing childcare for the 3 schools in the federation, including Clunbury and Newcastle.
Children who are in receipt of Pupil Premium will be having packed lunches delivered-we are liaising with The Community College at Bishops Castle, and are hoping to set this up shortly. Work set for the children has been posted out, emailed and is also uploaded on the website.
Sending everyone best wishes – stay well and safe 🙂
We are aware that we are currently facing uncertain times and that government advice could change quickly. Although we have been told that currently schools are to remain open, we have been asked by the local authority to make contingency plans in the event of school closures. Please see letter attached.
We were inspected by Ofsted on Wednesday 18th December 2019 and we were very pleased with the outcome. The report is now published and on the website. We would like to thank the children for being so amazing on the day, talking to the inspectors and behaving impeccably. We would also like to thank the parents for their lovely comments that were uploaded onto ParentView. And a huge thank you to the staff who worked so hard getting ready for the day.
Due to severe flooding on the access roads around school, we will be closed today. Sorry for any inconvenience.
The exciting school Reading Challenge has been launched today!
Please read the letter coming home tonight for more information
Year 6s had a great time at Castle Pottery in Knucklas. They had a go at hand carving known as kirinuki which is a Japanese form of making pots, then they had a turn on the pottery wheel and also made a tile using lace and an Indian inking block to create texture on the surface of the clay. The children can’t wait to see the final result when everything has been fired. A huge thank you to artists Tony Hall and Lois Hopwood.
