After School Clubs
At St Mary’s we are proud to be able to offer an extensive range of extra-curricular and after school clubs.
We are fortunate that we have dedicated staff who are supported by enthusiastic and skilled parents, volunteering to help organise and supervise our clubs and because of their commitment we are, at the moment able to offer the following clubs:-
Breakfast Club runs on Monday and Thursday mornings from 8.00 a.m. Our dining supervisor Lel Evans serves a selection of cereal and toast accompanied by fruit juice and milk. After breakfast, children can participate in a range of activities, including games and sports both in the school hall and outside on the school field. The cost of the session is £2 per child.
After school care runs until 5.00pm, on three days a week – this is very popular and children can access other clubs and then when they have finished join wraparound care until the end of the session. The cost for your child(ren) to stay and participate in clubs or wraparound care after school is £2 per child per day.
Miss Cook runs Maths Booster Club for Years 5 and 6. She helps pupils work towards their SATs, reinforcing learning for those children who need more support and providing additional challenge for the more adept pupils.
Lego Club – Mrs Beddoes runs the Lego Club – all the children have great fun creating their own models from Lego and building impressive designs. Lego Club is open to children of all ages.
Guitar Club is run by music teacher Mike Longmore. The children have great fun learning how to play and work towards putting on a music concert towards the end of term.
Film Club runs once a week and is a chance for pupils of all ages to relax and watch a range of films.
Currently Mrs Pearce and Mrs Owen run Eco and Art Club where the children are working towards the Eco Schools Green Flag award.
